About the Maker
Hi! I’m Bente, an artist from the Netherlands. My work explores the space between imagination and reality; where fantasy, symbolism, and absurdity collide. I make drawings, collages, and installations that feel like dreamscapes: layered, chaotic, and alive with strange encounters. A place where animals might talk, plants might walk, and everything seems to have a story. Even if the story keeps slipping away...
With Medieval Meadow, I’ve translated a sense of that artistic world into wearable form. Each sweater begins as a detailed drawing - growing organically, without a fixed plan - until it becomes a tapestry of creatures, symbols, and small mysteries.
This project lets me connect my love for art, storytelling, and craft. It’s a way to bring a piece of that imaginative world into everyday life. Something you can wear, feel, and wander through.

The Story Behind Medieval Meadow
Medieval Meadow is a world where art, myth, and history intertwine. A place where imagination meets craft. Every sweater tells a story.
Each design begins as a drawing filled with medieval symbols, mythical creatures, and fragments of folklore. These drawings grow organically, like tales without clear endings; strange, poetic, and alive.
Inspired by medieval art, mythology, and folklore, Medieval Meadow reimagines the visual language of the past through a modern, fantasy-inspired lens. It’s a world where light and darkness, beauty and absurdity, coexist - turning everyday clothing into wearable storytelling.
Every piece is ethically knit on demand, reducing waste and embracing slow, intentional fashion.
The result: artistic knitwear that blurs the line between fantasy and fashion.
✨ For those who find beauty in the extraordinary.
